Christmas Centerpiece Creations

December 4, 2009 1:00 PM

Whether you hosted or attended a party or prepared a festive meal, then you know nice and well what a difference centerpieces can make to a table. The same holds true with centerpieces for the Christmas dinner. I think I’m pretty safe to say that the Christmas dinner is the most significant one of the whole year and what wouldn’t you do to make it that much more special? Much thought goes into every iota of this special day- from the actual meal, to the presents, to the decorations, the tree and yes, even the centerpieces.

Before you start working on the centerpieces, you have put some thought into it. What is the atmosphere that you are trying to create? How tall/short would you like it be? How much money do you want to spend on them? How much time do you have on your hands to get them done on time? Etc.

Naturally, nothing says chic more than something traditional. Winter plants, candles, berries and fruits, all add to the decor in a very classy way and create a striking ambiance. They can be arranged in an endless amount of ways to create the desired effect.

Here are some short-on-time, classy centerpiece ideas for you to consider:

  1. Votive candle holders with some mistletoes arranged around it is effortless yet very pleasing to the eye.
  2. If you would rather not have to worry about the candles, you can go the natural way and place a mixture of berries and/or good old potpourri in a vase or bowl. It generates a very uncomplicated, bright, yet neat centerpiece.
  3. Placing bottles of champagne on the table and wrapping the bottom of the bottles with wreathes made out of evergreen plants, such as holly, ivy and pine, can make a brilliant centerpiece.
  4. You can give a bona fide look to your Christmas centerpiece by placing flowers inside antique teapots or you can create the same desired effect by filling antique birdcages with flowers.
  5. For something a bit more unusual nonetheless still fine-looking, why not dye some Easter eggs with Christmas colors and placing them in a pretty basket or bowl?

When push comes to shove, your centerpiece ought to be precisely what you want to convey. Centerpieces infuse new life into the Christmas dinner. They are not only particularly attention-grabbing but they also add profundity to the decorations. The sky is the limit.
