When it comes to food grading, pricing and quality, the chef and restaurant owner need to be informed. The United States Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service web site is chock full of useful information, and restauranteurs featuring both local and global fare, fresh or frozen, can gain great insight. There, you can learn about the grading and inspection process, as well as alerts of contamination and steps that are being taken to alleviate problems.

The FDA's recall web site is located at: http://www.recalls.gov/food.html There's a specific section on Food recalls, which includes both retail food and raw food types.
