Onion Garlic and Basil Croutons

Have leftover bread and not sure what to do with it? Homemade croutons are the way to go! These onion garlic and basil croutons are sure to add an excellent taste to any soup or salad. They are delicious, crunchy and easy to make. With a little basil - how much better can you get?

 

Ingredients:

10 slices bread

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon pepper

½ teaspoon crushed basil

 

Directions:

Place the 10 slices of bread in a toaster oven and toast until lightly browned.

Remove the bread from the toaster oven and cut it into cubes.

In a large frying pan, heat the oil and add the spices. Add the cubed bread and mix. Let the croutons sit until each piece is completely toasted.

Remove the croutons from the frying pan, place them on paper towel and allow them to cool before using.

Croutons can be stored in a Ziploc bag for up to 2 weeks.
