Chocolate Stuffed French Toast
French toast has been a Sunday morning breakfast staple for quite some time now. What better breakfast fun than biting into a fresh French toast and finding a scrumptious chocolate surprise waiting for you inside. For kids, this is a definite breakfast winner. For adults, it’s love at first sight.
Ingredients:
15 1-1/2” thick slices French bread
1 3-1/2 oz. milk chocolate bar, cut into pieces
2 tablespoon pistachio nuts, chopped
4 eggs, beaten
¾ cups milk
Scant ¼ cup coffee liqueur
¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Oil
Maple syrup or confectioners’ sugar
Directions:
- Start from the bottom of the bread and cut a pouch in each piece of bread, making sure not cut all the way through the bread.
