Playing sports is not all about winning. It’s about having a grand time and staying/getting fit. What better time of year than the summer to play sports, work those muscles, and break into a sweat? The heat gives you no justification for not exercising, as long as you make sure to stay well hydrated.

The following is a list of the top seven summer sports that are worth whatever time and energy you’ve got.

 

  1. Tennis. You’ll be amazed at how great a sport tennis is. It’s much more fun than you can ever imagine, not to mention that it is a superb full-body workout.
  2. For an overall body workout, swimming is great. On a hot summer day, where else would you rather be than in a pool?  Big fun, big exercise!
  3. Summer and biking go hand-in-hand. Biking with friends or family will give you a good time, while biking on your own can give you some time to think. Either way, you’ll be working your abs and legs, burning those extra calories, with the added bonus of enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
  4. Want to volley? Not only will you have a great time playing volleyball (on the beach), but it is also a really great workout for your arms and legs.
