Sizzler Plates, Fajita Skillets and Underliners

Find the perfect sizzle platter for your next restaurant special

Sizzler platters are named for the smoky impression and sizzling sound that cooked food makes when being taken from the oven to the table. Aside from making a grand entrance when used to serve individual orders, sizzle platters also help maintain the heat of food, making it tastier as well as attractive. Your signature dishes can be warmed up on the sizzle platter and then placed on the underliner when serving steak, fajitas, grilled chicken and more at the perfect temperatures. Easy to clean and maintain, add sizzle platters to steak houses and other eateries for a popular serving style.

With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, we’re your one-stop shop for sizzler plates, sizzling platters, and fajita skillets. Browse our massive collection and find the perfect product for you.

Sizzler plates add a touch of drama to restaurant food service. Food arrives on a surface that continues to cook it, making it appear fresher and more dynamic than it would if presented on a regular plate.

Restaurants and chefs use sizzle platters for all kinds of purposes, including presenting fajitas, hot curries, and grilled meals with vegetables. They are also helpful in the kitchen for melting cheese, broiling salmon, and toasting nuts.

Using metal platters is easy. Begin heating them on a medium heat for five to ten minutes before the food is ready to serve. Then, when the plate starts to smoke, pour the food onto it. The platter will then transfer heat into the food, cooking it further, and allowing it to continue sizzling as it arrives at diners’ tables.

Cleaning our sizzling plates is easy. Many are dishwasher-safe. Those that aren’t can be cleaned by placing a small quantity of non-abrasive soap or detergent in the middle of the grill pan and then using a sponge and hot water.

Frequently Asked Questions About Sizzler Plates And Underliners

Because sizzler plates are hot, they continue cooking food after it leaves the restaurant kitchen. Therefore, chefs who use them slightly undercook food before serving it to guests.

Heavy cast iron plates contain a lot of heat energy and can continue cooking meals for several minutes. Because of this, some restaurants instruct guests to wait a little while before eating.

You can also get sizzler plates with handles that let you cook food directly.

How long a sizzler plate takes to heat up depends on the thickness of the metal. Substantial cast iron sizzling platters may take up to 10 minutes to heat through thoroughly on a medium heat while thinner aluminum plates may only require 30 seconds. Most sizzler plates will smoke when they are ready to use

Metal is the material of choice for sizzler plates because of its ability to retain and conduct heat.

Affordable sizzler plates are made of aluminum metal which is easy to mass-produce. Larger trays (such as those in our collection) are made of stainless steel.

Steak and fajita skillets are often made of cast iron with a black coating. These tend to be on the thicker side so that they can contain more heat energy, allowing them to keep food warmer for longer.

Restaurants use underliners to serve hot dishes without damaging their tables. Many are made of wood because it is a natural insulator, though other materials are available.

Many underliners in our collection are compatible with matching skillets. Their shape prevents hot sizzling platters from sliding around, improving guest safety. Plus, they look great too when matched with compatible sizzler platters.

Some of the sizzler platters in our collection come with handles, allowing you to cook meat (or anything else on them), before transferring them to an underliner and presenting them to diners.
