An excellent and affordable 10 inch chef knife. I have been previously using the 8 inch version, but I needed something a little longer for the bigger kitchen tasks. There are some minor issues, but these are easy to fix, as described below. The one significant drawback is the thickness of the blade tip. This knife is not as versatile as it's 8 inch counterpart.
+The balance on this knife feels good, though not as well balanced as the 8 inch version.
-the tip of the knife is thicker than it should be. This is a problem when trying to do detail work.

+sharp right out of the box
-QA issues with etching on some knives (you may or may not have this problem). With respect to chef knives, this is worse than it sounds. The etching on the side of the knife is extremely abrasive making the knife very uncomfortable to work with. 600 grit sandpaper can be used to fix this, then finer grit sandpaper (typically used in autobody work) to repair the cosmetic appearance.
-The bolster runs past the edge of the blade in some cases. This can also happen after many sharpenings. Easy to fix by grinding/filing the bolster down as needed. See video for more details.
-Fit and finish. The edges on the top of the knife are not smoothed. Similar issue on the handle where the metal and plastic meet. This seems to be an issue with the other winco knives I own. It is easily corrected with some 600 grit sandpaper.
+good quality forged steel
Like the other winco Acero knives, this one should not go in the dishwasher. Always hand-wash, and dry with a towel after using.
I used this alot and i like the simplicity of the style. Winco brand wasnt that bad. I never thought that this affordable knife can be more likely to used.
This is a large knife. You may not use it every day, but it is nice to have for large jobs. The blade has a rather thick spine making it nicely rigid. With such a long blade it is a bit blade heavy, but balances well for such a large knife. The handle is comfortable to hold.John L. on 1-12-2015
