    These are heavy duty, that's for sure. They should last a long time and stand up to some abuse. The lids (sold separately) fit well. They are not air tight, but I do believe they will keep out light and dust. These boxes are made in China and carry a Proposition 65 warning - for what, I don't know. Being made of polypropylene, they shouldn't contain BPA. Phthalates? Or maybe the manufacturer just threw those stickers on as a legal precaution. Either way, I'm not thrilled about the Prop 65 warning. Next time I will look for boxes made in the USA. The boxes had a strong chemical smell when I received them, which has somewhat subsided after airing them out in the sun for a couple of weeks.
