    I'm very impressed with this mandoline. It's versatile and precise. It is perfect for julienning carrots for a saute. Or slicing potato chips. Granted, all these tasks can be done with a sharp knife, but it is so much faster with this mandoline.

    The other aspect I like about it is how fast setup is. It has two built in supports with rubber padding. Pull those out, set the knob to the setting you want, and start slicing. No attachments to keep track of, no propping it up on a bowl, everything is self-contained.

    One tip, when working with mandolines like this one, always set it up so you push forward when cutting. These are not meant to be used side-to-side, and orienting it this way makes it tougher. This is especially important for this item, because it's serrated blade that is not as sharp as a standard straight blade. The extra leverage will help you get clean cuts.
