    I expect this strainer will last for a long time. It is made of stainless steel, which is important for strainers because water gets caught in the bracket holding the mesh. Which quickly leads to rusting. This is a common problem I see in low-cost strainers.

    The stainless steel used in this strainer appears to be very good quality, so I don't expect it will be an issue.

    +very light

    +mesh is solidly attached to frame

    +no damage to the mesh even after extensive scrubbing

    +rust-resistant stainless steel construction.

    -positioning of the retaining hooks on the frame could have been a bit better. If they were a little more forward, it would enable using this strainer against flat edges.

    Fit and Finish: 4/5
    +no loose wires

    +nice finish on the wood handle

    -the frame came with a dent in it

    Value: 5/5
    +just under $3. The strainer I recently threw away was lower in cost, but it was made of inferior metals and rusted quickly.
