Perfect for those tasks that are a little too big for a 3

This is one of the best utility knives I've seen. Its blade is thin yet rigid. So it cuts through produce smoothly, yet at the same time, it feels nice and sturdy.

A knife like this is ideal for tasks that require a little more than a typical paring knife can handle. Such as peeling kohlrabi, or a larger rutabaga root.

Full tang, no bolster, with classic triple rivet handle

Material: high carbon, stain-resistant steel

Weight: 71g

Handle length: 4"

blade length: 4 3/4"

Overall length: 9"

Functionality: 5/5

+Comfortable handle

+Thin blade that is excellent for detailed work. .062" thickness at 1" from handle.

+Rigid blade that only flexes slightly

+Durable full-tang construction

+Edge bevel profiled to 15 degrees on each side, which is perfect for this type of knife.

Fit and Finish: 5/5

+No scratches/dents, or chips in the handle.

+Integration between handle and tang is perfect. No gaps.

+Rivet connections are smooth.

-Could be sharper out of box. Needs just a bit of touchup with a fine honing steel or a fine grit whetstone.

Value: 5/5

+Lower cost than comparable forged steel German knives (such as the Wusthof Classic priced at $64 on Amazon).
